COMMUNITY SERVICE

• Programs: Crown Garden Club offers six programs throughout the year that highlight horticulture and floral design.

• Flower Show: Club members are an integral part of Coronado's Annual Flower Show.

• Civic Beautification: Members weed, fertilize and plant in two public gardens in Coronado, one on the library property and one in Spreckles Park. We meet in the gardens at 9:00 on Thursday mornings.

• Library Flowers: Each week a CGC member displays a floral design or horticulture exhibit at the front desk of the Coronado Public Library.

• Rose Pruning Workshop: In January in the Coronado Library rose garden, CGC  master gardeners demonstrate to the community how to prune and care for roses.

• Community Outreach: Every year the club creates May Baskets to be distributed throughout the community.

• Scholarship: Each year the club awards a $1000 scholarship to a Coronado High School student  who demonstrates an interest in studying horticulture or floral design.
